Prize for electricity-free fridge
A 22-year-old Leeds student has been named one of the Women of the Year after inventing a “sustainable” fridge.
However, I have seen similair inventions before. Shaykh Google revels:
- A fridge that needs no electricity – The Times of India
- A Low-cost Clay Fridge
- Inventor of no-electricity refrigerator wins Rolex award – Boing Boing
- Pot-in-pot refrigerator – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Solar Fridge Invented (Again) by UK Student
I hope my invention of a circular disc, that can spin on on its axis and can be used for efficient horizontal motion will be viewed kindly by commentators.

lol. seriously a bit embarrasing… But of course she’s more important since the other inventors since a)she’s young b) she’s pretty c) she’s white d) she’s woman (women match with words like… erm…selfless (argh (seriously; double argh!!!when did u ever meet a selfless woman? i never did n i m one for cryin out loud…))->and seriously she’s like a cool inventor chick (every nerd’s day dream) so she’s like a lot more presentable than a bunch o’villagers somewhere in some desert thningy or like summin u know…
A different case is when I hear of people saying Columbus ‘discovered’ America. Hah!.
I have invented many a wondrous invention only to discover they’d already been invented. Alas.
In Iraq they have been using something similar for centuries. They have a container whose skin leaks tiny amounts of water that makes the water inside it cool.
